Mr. Ashish Uttamchandani Group Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer

Mr. Ashish Uttamchandani

Ashish is a results-oriented senior executive leveraging over 15 years of experience in leadership, strategy, general management, technology, business development and consulting across various industries, including security, hospitality, ICT, distribution, retail, technology and manufacturing. Experience and a proven track record of managing P&Ls, growing revenue and EBITA, launching strategic initiatives, managing large/multi-year projects, driving market share growth and helping organizations to solve complex business challenges.

Currently, he holds the position of Group Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer at the ASSL Group. In this role, he directs strategy, operations, and business development for a varied portfolio of Caribbean-based companies within the ASSL Group, spanning investments in Security, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Hospitality, and Property Management. Before joining the ASSL Group, he served as the Assistant Vice President and CTO for the Massy Integrated Retail Portfolio. In that capacity, he provided strategic guidance and oversight for Technology Strategy, Digital Transformation, Infrastructure, and eCommerce initiatives, covering both the Caribbean and the USA.

He is a part-time lecturer at the University of the West Indies in the areas of Leadership & New Venture Development. He is also a member of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce’s Digital Societies Committee. He was a columnist for the Barbados Business Authority and the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation and sat on several non-profit boards including the Project Management Institute Barbados, and was an advisor with the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation.

Ashish holds a MBA from Durham University Business School, UK and a MSC. Change and Development from the University of Manchester, UK. He holds a Diploma in Professional Consulting from the Chartered Management Institute, UK. In his spare time, Ashish enjoys reading, travelling and performing research in culture and change management.

Mr. Robert Baur Regional Development Manager

Mr. Robert Baur

Robert Baur is the Regional Development Manager at Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) and its Caribbean subsidiaries and associated or related companies. His primary responsibility are the operations in the Caribbean countries other than Trinidad and Tobago. Robert has 11+ years of experience in security and risk management activities in Trinidad and Tobago as well as the wider Caribbean region.

As a customer centric manager, his main focus is on understanding the unique needs and preferences of customers across diverse markets within the region in order to align the ASSL Group of Companies’ business strategies with the ever-evolving demands of our clientele. He is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences by prioritizing customer satisfaction and building trust through transparent communication and reliable support. Robert doesn’t believe in just being a supplier but aims at cultivating long-lasting partnerships that drive mutual growth and success for both, the ASSL Group of Companies and our customers in the wider Caribbean region.

Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in German linguistics with a focus on journalism, marketing and PR from the Otto-Friedrich-University, Bamberg, Germany. As well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Anglia Ruskin University.

Mr. Wayne Clarke, MSc. General Manager

Mr. Wayne Clarke, MSc.

Our General Manager, Wayne has over 30 years of experience in the public and private security sectors. Mr Clarke has been integral in setting up and leading security operations in Jamaica, Barbados, St Vincent & the Grenadines and St Lucia. His leadership experience includes the hiring, training, supervision, discipline and motivation of staff from line to management levels; driving and supporting the development of policies and operational protocols; fleet and asset management; the formulation and promulgation of training programmes; devising, implementation and oversight of a National Aviation Security Programme. His post-secondary education began with Young Officers’ Training at the Commando Training Centre, Royal Marines. He holds a Master of Science Degree in National Security & Strategic Studies and is an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) certified Aviation Security (AVSEC) Instructor. He is currently pursuing Chinese Language studies at the Confucius Institute at the University of Guyana in Turkeyen.

Ms. Yolanda Haley-Roberts Manager of Marketing & Customer Service

Ms. Yolanda Haley-Roberts

Ms. Yolanda Haley is the Manager of Marketing & Customer Service. Ms. Haley-Roberts is the holder of a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management plus a Diploma in Marketing. She has been with our subsidiary company for over 13 years.

Ms. Nadica Gudan Accountant

Ms. Nadica Gudan

Ms. Nadica Gudan is the Accountant at Amalgamated Security Services (Guyana) Inc. Ms. Gudan is an ACCA certified accountant, having completed all levels of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. She has considerable experience in the accounting field having worked in the Guyana public service and as an external auditor at several auditing firms.

Mr. Cortland Gordon Training & Support Officer

Mr. Cortland Gordon

Cortland, our Training & Support Officer is a retired Senior Superintendent of Police, who has given 36 years of service to the people of Guyana through the Guyana Police Force. He ensures that our training standards are maintained, does quality control checks and carries out background investigations of our personnel. His post-secondary educational path has taken him through various training courses and programmes; Junior All-Arms Ordinance and Senior Ordinance Courses in the Police Force; a Foundation Certificate in Accountancy at the Government Technical Institute and a Diploma in Accounts at the University of Guyana. He has also completed a Seminar for Managers conducted at the GPF. During his tenure with the police force, Mr. Gordon earned appointments to such posts as Quartermaster and Finance Officer. He was appointed to the post of Second in Command of D Division before accepting the post as Second in Command of the Felix Austin Police College, passing on his skills and experience and shaping the minds and careers of trainees and other junior members of the Force.

Mr. Frank Belle Coordinator Financial Services

Mr. Frank Belle

Mr. Frank Belle is the Coordinator of Financial Services, with responsibility for ATM Services and International Valuables transport. Mr. Belle is the holder of a Certificate in Business Organization and Environment from the Guyana Technical Institute and a certificate in Business Management. He has also undergone training in Aviation Security, Fraudulent Documentation and Leadership.

Mr. Clyde Layne

Mr. Clyde Layne is the Head of Compliance. Mr. Layne is the holder of a Diploma in Public Safety and Security Management. He has been with our subsidiary company for 40 years and has managed various departments within our subsidiary company.
